Visar Poliku is 30 years old and lives and works in Munich. Due to the vision problem, Visar asked for a solution in our clinic and the examination determined that he was a candidate for implantation of phakic lenses.
Phakic lenses are recommended for people over 18 years of age who have high diopters and / or a thin cornea, as well as for people who, due to other criteria, are not candidates for laser diopter correction.
“I have been wearing glasses since I was 20 and I can say that I did not like them. They interfered with swimming, exercising, when I went out with my friends, somehow they did not fit in with me, and I also do modeling which was an additional problem. I tried to wear contact lenses, but my eyes would not accept them. On recommendation I came to “Sistina Ophthalmology” with Dr. Biljana Kostovska. My diopter was not stable and they had to follow me for a while. My condition required implantation (ICL) of phakic lenes as a method of diopter correction. I was brave and persistent, I returned for check-ups in Macedonia and finally last year it was time to do the operation. Many people demotivated me and were pessimistic, but I took risks and it was worth it. The moral support I received from the Sistina Ophthalmology team and my family was especially important to me. The operation ended quickly and when I woke up I saw a different world, I looked around and I was overjoyed. This is an amazing experience for me, it was absolutely painless and it works great.
How would I describe the hospital? Professional team, pleasant atmosphere, positively welcomed, motivated and morally supported by all. I am very glad that I met almost everyone on the team and that every arrival at the check-ups is a pleasure. A huge THANK YOU to this great team”- Visar Poliku.
