How to get laser diopter correction?

1. Examination for laser vision surgery
It is necessary to make an examination for laser diopter correction that lasts about two hours, because of all the tests that are done to determine exactly whether you are a candidate for this intervention or another method of diopter correction is more suitable for you. Before the examination, it is very important to take a break from wearing contact lenses for a while to “rest” the cornea of the eye from the lens. To manifest the real cylinder or the shape of the cornea without the pressure from the lens. If you wear soft contact lenses you need to rest from them for a minimum of 3 days before the examination or a minimum of 7 days before the examination if the contact lenses are semi-hard or hard. In the meantime, glasses can be worn.

2. Laser vision correction
Preoperative preparation takes about 20 minutes. During this period, the condition of the patient’s vision and the eye is re-checked. The ophthalmologist explains again the steps of the intervention. The intervention itself lasts only 5 minutes for each eye. It is completely painless – local anesthesia is applied in the form of drops and the patient does not feel pain. The patient is awake and talks to the ophthalmologist and follows their directions.

3. Recovery period
The period of adaptation or postoperative care for laser diopter correction is from 3 to 7 days. The next day is the first mandatory examination and the next examination is after a few days based on the assessment of your ophthalmologist. These examinations are used to monitor the stabilization (adaptation) of your vision and the healing of the corneal flap. Restrictions after the intervention are temporary and do not last long and are always in line with the recommendation of the ophthalmologist. The patient’s profession and lifestyle are very important. Medical staff is available 24/7 for any consultation required after the intervention.
